SDIC Beidaqiao No. 7 Wind Farm is located in Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province. This wind farm is the first onshore commercial wind power project above the 6MW level in China. The total installed capacity of Zone A and Zone B is 400MW. A total of 64 Sany Heavy Energy SI-172625 wind power units have been installed, all of which adopt the box transformer upside scheme. Located in Hexi Corridor, it is a typical Gobi landform. The Sany Heavy Energy wind turbine has well adapted to the desert environment, withstood rigorous tests, and has taken a step forward for the application of large MW units in the future desert scenario in the entire industry.
In 2021, while the industry was generally still lifting wind turbines with a capacity of less than 5MW, Sany Heavy Energy won the bid for the National Investment Power North Bridge project, using the 6.25MW unit, which was a step forward for the industry's application of large MW units in the Sago Desert scenario. The unit has three main advantages:
1、 Large MW, Low Cost: Sany Heavy can reduce the number of wind turbines, improve land use efficiency, and reduce operation and maintenance costs by using high-power large MW wind turbines, thereby reducing the cost per kilowatt, effectively increasing project profitability and risk resistance. In addition, the unit adopts a box transformer installation scheme, which not only avoids damage to the box transformer caused by sand, dust, heavy snow, hail, floods, etc., but also saves cables, reduces line losses, reduces land occupation, ensures reliability, and reduces costs.
2、 Comprehensive, guaranteed power generation: Sany Heavy Energy integrates cutting-edge technologies from multiple disciplines such as intelligent control, predictive control, optimal control, and expert systems to create intelligent wind turbines. In terms of blades, Sany Heavy Energy can ensure that the power capacity of units is higher than that of similar units at low wind speed stage through the optimization design of wind energy utilization, and comprehensively guarantee the power generation efficiency.
3、 Sand and dust prevention, high stability: For the Sha Ge Huang wind power project, a major challenge is the issue of sand and dust prevention for the unit. Through years of experience in wind farm development, Sany Heavy Industries has achieved a full system anti sand and dust design by coating blades with high weather resistant polyurethane coatings, designing cabin seals, installing dust filters, and using labyrinth seals or brush seals at the connections of various components, ensuring that the unit has good anti sand capabilities. In addition, Sany Heavy Energy has also improved the high and low temperature resistance of the unit to address issues such as high sunlight intensity and low winter temperatures in the desert environment, ensuring stable operation and efficient power generation in the desert environment.
After a year of stable operation, the North Bridge project has delivered satisfactory results. Since the grid connection in Zone A, the unit utilization rate has reached 99.47%, and since June 2022, the unit utilization rate in Zone B has reached 99.82%. Not only has the unit withstood the test, but also the intelligent operation and maintenance service team of the wind farm has accumulated rich experience.
Sany Heavy Industries independently develops a 3D terrain based early warning model analysis, which includes three major sections: failure warning of large components, wind turbine safety protection, and power generation performance improvement. Combining terrain and meteorological factors, it calculates and analyzes the operation and maintenance window to carry out predictive operation and maintenance management of the wind farm. The Sany Heavy Energy service team provides a "butler style" on-site service, quickly responding to problems and cleaning the dust filter at high frequencies for the Shagohuang project units to ensure reliable operation of the units.
Recently, Sany Heavy Energy United Nations Investment Gansu New Energy Co., Ltd. held the "first observation activity of onshore commercial wind power project above 6MW level in China" at SDIC North Bridge No. 7 Wind Farm, invited nearly 100 people, including the people's government of Guazhou County, customer representatives, industry experts, etc., visited the inside of the wind turbine tower, the wind farm booster station and the central control room, and intuitively understood the operation mode of smart wind turbines and smart wind farms.
In the afternoon of that day, the "Sago Wind Turbine Technology Outlook Forum" was also held.
