As a special initiative of the Secretary General of the United Nations, the United Nations Global Compact was launched by the then Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, in 2000. It is the world's largest international organization to promote the sustainable development of enterprises. The organization is committed to mobilizing member enterprises and stakeholders around the world, integrating the ten principles of the Global Compact, such as human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, into its strategy and operations, and helping enterprises to contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations by promoting capacity building, building a platform for dialogue, innovative cooperation and partnerships.
